Coastguard Hawke's Bay has two forms of membership
- Supporter Membership (non active) or
- Active Professional Volunteer Crew Membership
Supporter members (non active) help support Coastguard Hawke’s Bay financially through their membership fees. In addition to knowing you are helping provide a first class marine rescue service for Hawke Bay you also gain a number of benefits –
- Free assist within our operational area, non members are charged an hourly fee.

Active Professional Volunteers are the people who deliver the on-water rescue service. There are a number of different areas - Rescue Vessel Skippers, Boat crew, Shore support, Search and Rescue advisors and Radio communications. All volunteers receive in depth theory and practical training.
